The Parish Council has once again agreed to fund the youth project in Wheatley Hill during the 2024/25 financial year.
The Parish Council will contribute £6,500 to allow Durham City Youth Project to provide the youth sessions held at the Community Centre in Wheatley Hill.
The junior session is open to 8 to 12 year olds and the senior session was aimed at 13 to 18 year olds. Both sessions are popular and attract around 40 to 50 young people each week.
It is hoped that the youth project in the village will help reduce anti-social behaviour.
